An old kit from the stash but re-released recently, I intended to paint the streaked surface finish but having a set of decals from the excellent Aviattic range I used them instead which saved a considerable amount of time, alongside Pheon’s JG.II sheet. I also carved my first prop from laminated veneer. In a very sad coincidence the model was built at the time of the passing Rowan Broadbent, the owner of Pheon. Over the years this lovely man offered me a lot of support and encouragement, his products a reflection of his tremendous depth of knowledge based upon thorough research. He will be sadly missed by many modellers.
